Acupuncture Treatment

Acupuncture therapy is an effective, safe, gentle & drug free treatment for a wide variety of health conditions. Acupuncture is a complementary therapy that originated in China and has been around for over 2,500 years.

Acupuncture is a healing technique used to balance the flow of energy, also known as chi, or qi. Qi is thought to flow through pathways in your body. The goal of acupuncture treatment is to remove energy blockages and balance your energy flow, which helps to regulate your emotional, mental, and physical health.

Acupuncture therapy treats a broad spectrum of health issues, utilizing the body’s own natural healing by helping to re-balance the body and relieve pain through adjustments to the body’s energy system. It is a safe, effective, and drug free treatment option for your health and wellness.

As your trusted practitioners, our goal is to make the Acupuncture appointment as relaxing as possible by tailoring treatment methods to suit both the parent’s and child’s needs and comfort. A pediatric patient of acupuncture has the choice between needles and needle-free techniques. An alternative to needles is acupressure, which can also be used to stimulate specific points in the body to bring about healing. Other modalities include cupping, gua sha, and the placing of ear seeds (a little sticker that has a seed on it that they wear home to help stimulate specific points, up to a week later!), which are also painless and highly effective treatments in pediatric acupuncture.

Jada’s passion for Women’s Health is rooted in her personal experience with dysmenorrhea and endometriosis, which she transformed with acupuncture, Chinese herbs, and lifestyle changes. Jada now guides women to understand their cycles, bodies, and emotions on a deeper level with gentle, compassionate care.

Since experiencing a missed miscarriage in 2020, supporting women through pregnancy loss has held a special place in Jada’s heart. She strives to meet patients where they are in life, offering nonjudgmental support as they grow along their healing journey.

Whether supporting conception, pregnancy, or emotional wellness, Jada aims to provide subtle yet profound care through Chinese medicine, helping you reconnect with your body and path to health.

There is nothing Mika loves more than sharing the experience of Acupuncture with her patients. She states that it is very profound to have your nervous system lowered back down to baseline and be able to think more clearly and heal. She believes the body is infinitely intelligent, and it is her goal to determine what factors are not allowing your body to heal. She considers herself an eternal student and enjoys continually expanding her knowledge base to improve the quality of life of her patients. During your treatments, it is her goal to have you feel completely comfortable during your time with her and to explain what she is doing and why throughout the process.

Fun Fact:

Outside of the clinic you can catch me camping with my two sons and husband in our little green Boler trailer. When I am not keeping up with those two little turkey’s, I love to curl up with a book, or podcast and my huge cat or catch-up with friends.

We would love to help you find a Doctor of Acupuncture in Edmonton or Sherwood Park that is the best fit for your child or teen.
